Log Yard Safety Training

Weyerhaeuser would like to invite all Log Haulers, Logging Contractors, DNRC, USFS, and CSKT to a Log Yard Safety Training, Pulp Log Roll Out and whole log chipper/MDF facility tour. -The day will start with Log Yard Safety Training, proper use of unmanned scales, proper use of wrapper pulling station, unloading areas and procedures, followed by proper use of the trailer loader. We will also talk about Gun Barrel alternatives and Safety Protocol for Lightning events; proper load configurations, proper ticketing, etc.

After the Safety training we are doing a pulp log roll out and explain how logs that do not meet specifications affect our operation. From there we will tour our Whole Log Chipper and Medium Density Fiberboard Plant to showcase the product that is made from pulp logs. The event will be followed up with lunch catered in by the Back Room.

REQUIRED:  Hardhat, Safety Vest, Eye protection, ear protection, long pants, sturdy boots over the ankle (We’ll have PPE on hand too just in case some forget)

ATTENDEES:   Attendance is mandatory for Log Truck Drivers delivering to Weyerhaeuser facilities.  Attendance is strongly encouraged for logging contractors (owners/foreman), DNRC USFS, CSKT.

Columbia Falls Log Yard, Plywood building

Time: 8:00am-1:00pm
followed by a Weyerhaeuser hosted lunch

4 ALP/PLH credits; In addition to ALP credits, this workshop will serve as the annual Weyerhaeuser Log Yard Safety Training
